Born and raised in Minnesota, Patrick Gibbs has enjoyed the outdoors all his life. His love for hunting and fishing were apparent at a very early age. Having a deep felt passion for wildlife, and a love of art, Patrick dreamed of putting on canvas his visions, which were nurtured through many years of experiencing the great outdoors. Through his father's in depth understanding of art, Patrick quickly picked up the skills needed to transfer his thoughts to canvas. In the late 1990s, he finished his first painting : "Mating Game". Only his family and a few close friends were first given a glimpse of his extraordinary skill and brilliant attention to detail. Patrick finished his second painting in early 2000 and entered it in the Deer Classic; he won "The People's Choice Award". Patrick followed up with three other paintings: "Woodland Fantasy", "Endless Pursuit", and "Sentry".
Late in the fall of 2003, Patrick was given the opportunity to paint full time. His first depiction came as a result of an elk hunting excursion a few months prior in Colorado. Patrick was so awestruck by the breathtaking experience, he decided to paint "His Majesty" - an absolutely stunning representation of his encounter with the wild in Colorado, released in early 2004.
